About Dr. Wetmur

Dr. Alison B. Wetmur, DSW, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who has led True Places Counseling since 2017. She earned her Doctor of Social Work and Master of Social Work at Rutgers University. Dr. Wetmur is DeafDisabled and fluent in American Sign Language, and she offers therapy in both English and ASL. Her clinical work centers complex trauma, using EMDR (including EMDR delivered in ASL by video), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care. Before opening her practice, she worked as a clinician at Change, Inc. in New London and as a clinical social worker at the American School for the Deaf.
